“Stories have to be told or they die, and when they die, we can’t remember who we are or why we’re here.”
–Sue Monk Kidd
M.K. Murray grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and has many thoughts about the strange, loud Southside Catholic culture that surrounds her. She graduated as valedictorian from Queen of Peace High School in Burbank, Illinois, (2011) and earned a Bachelor’s of Arts, magna cum laude, in Creative Writing from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois (2014). She has since worked a variety of jobs in an attempt to figure out who she is.
M.K. has been interested in writing and telling stories her entire life. As a child, she frequently wrote and directed plays that she and her brother performed for their grandparents. M.K. pulls inspiration from history, her family, and her interest in psychology. She enjoys reading, has watched a lot of television, and absolutely loves dogs.
